7 best Foreplay alternatives in 2026 (including tools that make the ad)

The best Foreplay alternative in 2026 is Adrio if the workflow ends at a brief and nothing ships. Foreplay is a strong research tool, arguably the strongest, but it stops where your week gets stuck: the ad still has to be made and launched. Adrio turns a saved competitor ad into your own finished static or video ad, and then launches it on Meta. Atria and Superscale also make ads, and SwipeKit, Motion, WinningHunter, and the free Meta Ad Library stay on the research side.

We make Adrio, which is one of the options below. Every other tool was checked against its own homepage and pricing page on October 14, 2026, and prices are the cheapest plan listed that day.

Best Foreplay alternatives: quick answer

Pick Adrio if your problem is the gap between saved ads and a live campaign: it researches, makes the ad, and launches on Meta in one tool at $29/month. Atria is the pick if you want an agent with analytics across Meta and TikTok. SwipeKit is the pick for a cheaper swipe file. Motion fits creative analytics, WinningHunter fits ecommerce research, and the Meta Ad Library is the free option.

Why look past Foreplay

Foreplay calls itself "The Complete Winning Ad Workflow." Its pricing page lists Swipe File, Discovery, and Briefs on every plan, with access to a library of 200M+ ads, a Chrome extension, and a mobile app. In June 2026 it shipped an MCP server that lets Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI tools search that library, pull competitor ads, and browse your swipe file from a chat. That is a strong research product, and it comes with a 7-day free trial and a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Teams still compare alternatives for three practical reasons:

  • The workflow stops at the brief. Foreplay's Briefs include AI script generation, but the homepage does not describe making finished ads or publishing to Meta. Your swipe file fills up, and the ad still doesn't exist. Someone has to design it and upload it in Ads Manager.
  • Tracking and analytics cost more. Basic is one user ($20 per extra user). Spyder competitor tracking and Lens analytics start on Workflow at $175/month ($149/month yearly), and Agency is $459/month.
  • Breadth you may not use. Foreplay covers Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and more. A team that only runs Meta may want something narrower that does more after the save.

If research quality is your only problem, Foreplay may already be the right tool. Our Foreplay vs SwipeKit vs Adrio comparison goes deeper on that choice.

How we picked

We started from the tools AI search engines list as Foreplay alternatives and checked each on its own site: what it researches, whether it makes a finished ad, whether it publishes to Meta, and the cheapest listed price. The list is split into tools that also make the ad and tools that stay in research.

Tools that also make the ad

1. Adrio - best for turning a saved Meta ad into your own ad

Adrio covers the research half of Foreplay's job for Meta, then keeps going, and "keeps going" is the whole pitch. Foreplay hands you a brief with a screenshot on it. Adrio hands you the finished ad, running against real audiences, with your money moving toward whichever version won.

Research lives in three places:

  • Inspiration: a wall of 100k+ real Meta Ad Library ads with semantic and keyword search. You can filter by active only, minimum days running, format, hook, proof, CTA, offer, industry, language, and more, and each ad gets an Intelligence breakdown.
  • Ad Library watchlist: follow competitor Facebook Pages and see their creatives, insights (media mix, top words, landing pages, CTAs), and a timeline of start and stop dates.
  • Swipe File: boards of saved ads you can reuse as references or share through a read-only link.

From there, Spark, Adrio's AI agent, rebuilds a saved ad's structure (layout, shot type, copy rhythm) around your product and brand, without copying the other brand's product, claims, or branding. It makes static ads and multi-scene video ads, and a saved ad can serve as the reference for either. Spark then builds the campaign on Meta, launches it, reads ROAS, CPA, and CTR, moves budget to winners, and pauses losers. It asks for approval by default, and you can set spend limits it cannot exceed even with approval. Our guide to cloning competitor Facebook ads shows the workflow step by step.

Where Adrio is the wrong pick: it is Meta only, and its 100k+ ad library is far smaller than Foreplay's 200M+. If you research TikTok, YouTube, or LinkedIn every day, keep Foreplay or SwipeKit for that. Carousels are rebuilt one image at a time, not as full sequences.

Price: Basic $29/month for 300 credits, Pro $69/month for 1,000, Max $149/month for 2,200. Every plan has unlimited seats. There is no free trial, but there is a 30-day money-back guarantee if less than 20% of the period's credits were used. See Adrio pricing.

Best for: media buyers and DTC brands who already save ads and want the next test made and launched from them.

2. Atria - best for research, analytics, and generation with one agent

Atria is the alternative that most directly pitches itself against Foreplay. Its headline is "Ship winning Meta ads," and its AI agent, Raya, analyzes competitors, grades your ads, generates new creatives, and "batch uploads dozens of creatives to Meta" so you can launch with a click. Its FAQ says it includes a library of 100M+ ads from Meta and TikTok and a Chrome extension for saving ads, and it connects to Meta and TikTok ad accounts for performance data.

The pages we checked described uploading ads to Meta, not moving budget between ad sets.

Watch out for: the jump from the free plan to Core is large, and your analytics allowance is capped by ad spend ($500K a month on Core).

Price: free plan available. Core is $129/month billed annually, with 5 seats, 4,000 AI credits, and 50 followed brands. Plus is $479/month. See Atria pricing.

Best for: creative teams on Meta and TikTok that want to replace a research tool and an analytics tool at once.

3. Superscale - best for agent-led static and video production

Superscale describes itself as "Marketing built by AI, judged by profit." It runs named agents (Static Ads Designer, Creative Strategist, Brand Researcher, Media Buyer, Video Ad Editor, and others) that analyze competitor ads in your niche, plan concepts, produce static and video ads, and read performance from your ad accounts back into the next batch. It covers Meta and Google.

Limitations: on October 14, 2026, its homepage listed direct channel publishing and approval workflows, but marked campaign "Launch & Scheduling" to Meta and Google as "coming soon." Check the current state if launching is a requirement.

Price: from $99/month, with free credits at signup and a 5-day free trial. See Superscale pricing.

Best for: lean teams and agencies that want an agent team producing static and video ads at volume.

Research and swipe file tools

4. SwipeKit - best low-cost Foreplay replacement

SwipeKit is the closest like-for-like swap. It saves ads from Meta, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn into folders and boards, tracks competitor brands, and turns saved ads into scripts and storyboards with AI Scripts. API access, MCP access, and white-label share links are on every plan, and the discovery library lists 1.5M ads.

Basic includes 5 seats, 5 tracked brands, and 150 AI script credits, more seats than Foreplay Basic for less money.

Keep in mind: the library is much smaller than Foreplay's, and SwipeKit does not make finished ads or publish them.

Price: $39/month, or $26/month billed annually. Plus is $46/month and Agency $66/month on annual billing. 14-day free trial, no card required.

Best for: solo buyers and small agencies who mainly need to save, organize, and share ads.

5. Motion - best when you need creative analytics, not a swipe file

Motion is a creative analytics platform. It tags your creatives with AI, ranks them on a leaderboard, and tells you "what to fix next." Its AI agent also "hunts down the latest ads from your biggest rivals and builds you a plan to beat them," and its pricing page mentions inspiration, benchmarks, and MCP access.

Motion replaces Foreplay's Lens more than its Swipe File. It does not generate ads or launch them.

Watch out for the price: Starter is $999/month for brands spending up to $50k a month on ads, with unlimited seats. Pro and Growth are custom. See Motion pricing and our Adrio vs Motion comparison.

Best for: brands with enough spend that creative reporting drives weekly decisions.

6. WinningHunter - best for ecommerce ad and product research

WinningHunter is an ecommerce research platform with 300M+ ads and 5M+ stores across Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, and Shopify. Besides ads, it tracks stores and brands and has a "Magic AI" search, so it suits people choosing what to sell as much as what to run.

It has no ad creation and no briefing workflow like Foreplay's.

Price: Basic $49/month (Facebook ads, TikTok Shop, 25 tracked stores, 2 tracked brands). Standard at $79/month adds ad spend and scaling filters, Pinterest and TikTok ads, and 30 brands. Quarterly and yearly billing save more, and there is a free trial.

Best for: dropshippers and ecommerce operators.

7. Meta Ad Library - best free option

The Meta Ad Library is the official, free source for ads running across Meta's apps. Meta explains what it covers in About the Meta Ad Library. Every paid tool on this list is built on top of the same public data.

It has no boards, tags, or tracking history. For more research tools, see our Facebook Ads Library alternatives and best Facebook ad spy tools.

Price: free.

Best for: quick checks on what a brand is running right now.

Other tools we checked

  • Segwise tags creatives, connects them to performance from 15+ ad networks, tracks competitor ads on Meta, and generates static, video, and playable ads. It leans toward mobile games and apps. Growth is $499/month with a 7-day free trial.
  • GetCrux calls itself a "Creative OS for launching high performing ads," with analytics, competitor insights, and generation. Starter is $1,500/month, and signup goes through a demo.
  • MagicBrief shut down on July 31, 2026. If you are moving off it, read our MagicBrief alternatives guide.

Foreplay vs Atria

This is the most common head-to-head. Foreplay has the larger library (200M+ vs 100M+), more platforms, and a cheaper entry plan at $59/month for one user. Atria's paid entry is $129/month billed annually for 5 seats, compared with Foreplay Workflow at $149/month yearly for 5 users. Atria adds ad generation and batch upload to Meta, which Foreplay does not describe. Choose Foreplay if research and briefs are the job, and Atria if you want the same subscription to produce and upload the ads.

Run three competitor ads you would save this week through two tools on your shortlist and note where the work stops. If it stops at a board or a brief, that's the exact gap Adrio closes: the next test gets made and launched instead of scheduled with a designer. FAQ

What is the best Foreplay alternative?

For Meta advertisers who want saved ads turned into new ads, Adrio is the best fit because it rebuilds a reference around your product and can launch it on Meta with approval, all from $29/month. SwipeKit is the closest like-for-like swipe file at a lower price, if research is where your week begins and ends.

Is there a free Foreplay alternative?

The Meta Ad Library is free and official, but it has no saving, boards, or tracking. Atria offers a free plan, and SwipeKit has a 14-day free trial with no card required. Foreplay itself has a 7-day free trial.

Which Foreplay alternatives can make ads?

Adrio makes static and video Meta ads and can launch them with approval. Atria generates creatives and batch uploads them to Meta. Superscale produces static and video ads, with campaign launching marked as coming soon when we checked. Foreplay and SwipeKit stop at briefs, scripts, and storyboards.

Is Atria better than Foreplay?

It depends on the job. Foreplay has a larger library (200M+ ads), more platforms, and a cheaper one-user plan at $59/month. Atria's paid plans start at $129/month billed annually, but they add ad generation and batch upload to Meta, which Foreplay does not describe.

Does Foreplay have an MCP server?

Yes. Foreplay released an MCP server in June 2026 that connects its 200M+ ad library and your swipe file to Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP clients. SwipeKit and Adrio also offer MCP access.
