Facebook ads cost about $8 to $15 per 1,000 impressions (CPM) in 2026. Triple Whale's benchmark of more than 40,000 ecommerce brands puts the median Meta CPM at $15.06 for August 2025 to July 2026, up 13% from $13.30 a year earlier. WebFX gives a wider range of $3 to $20, with an average around $8. In the US you will usually pay more, often above $20.
"Views" in this question usually means impressions: one impression is one time your ad is shown. If you mean video views, the price is higher, because only some impressions become views. The formula for that is further down.
Facebook CPM benchmarks in 2026
| Benchmark | Cost per 1,000 impressions | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Median, all industries (Aug 2025–Jul 2026) | $15.06 | Triple Whale |
| Median, one year earlier (Aug 2024–Jul 2025) | $13.30 | Triple Whale |
| Highest industry: Health & Wellness | $21.80 | Triple Whale |
| Books & Music (biggest increase, +33%) | $14.01 | Triple Whale |
| Lowest industry: Baby | $11.50 | Triple Whale |
| Typical range, all advertisers | $3–$20 (about $8 average) | WebFX |
Triple Whale's data comes from ecommerce brands that use its attribution software, so it leans toward DTC stores that spend on conversion campaigns. WebFX's range covers a broader mix of businesses and objectives, which is why its average is lower. If you sell online and optimize for purchases, the Triple Whale number is the closer comparison.
CPM went up in 16 of the 17 industries Triple Whale tracks. E-learning and online courses was the only category that got cheaper.
Facebook CPM by country
Where your audience lives changes the price more than almost anything else. These are AdAmigo's 2026 estimates, built from industry benchmarks and late-2025 data. AdAmigo doesn't publish its sample, so treat them as ballpark figures.
| Country | Average CPM | Typical range |
|---|---|---|
| United States | $23.00 | $18.00–$28.00 |
| Australia | $18.50 | $15.00–$22.00 |
| Canada | $13.40 | $11.00–$16.00 |
| United Kingdom | $10.31 | $8.50–$12.50 |
| Germany | $10.05 | $8.00–$12.00 |
| France | $8.05 | $6.50–$9.50 |
| Brazil | $4.20 | $3.50–$5.00 |
| Philippines | $3.50 | $2.80–$4.50 |
| India | $2.60 | $2.00–$3.20 |

A US audience costs roughly nine times as much per impression as an Indian one. A low CPM in a market where you can't ship or sell is still wasted money.
What 1,000 impressions buys you
The math is simple: cost = (CPM × impressions) / 1,000.
| Budget | At $8 CPM | At $15 CPM | At $23 CPM (US average) |
|---|---|---|---|
| $10 | 1,250 impressions | 667 impressions | 435 impressions |
| $100 | 12,500 impressions | 6,667 impressions | 4,348 impressions |
| $1,000 | 125,000 impressions | 66,667 impressions | 43,478 impressions |
Impressions are not people. If the same person sees your ad three times, that counts as three impressions. Meta reports the number of unique people as reach. Divide impressions by reach to get frequency.
What if you mean 1,000 video views?
Meta charges by impression for most campaigns, so the price of a video view depends on how many impressions turn into one. Use this formula:
Cost per 1,000 video views = CPM / view rate
For example, with a $15 CPM, if 25% of impressions turn into a 3-second view, 1,000 views cost $15 / 0.25 = $60. Those numbers are made up to show the formula. Pull your own view rate from Ads Manager. Stronger hooks raise the view rate, which makes every view cheaper. Our guide to thumbstop, hook, and hold rate explains how to read those numbers.
What changes your CPM
Country matters most, as the table above shows. Narrow audiences also cost more, because more advertisers bid on fewer people.
Your objective changes the price too. Campaigns optimized for purchases or leads usually pay a higher CPM than reach campaigns, because Meta shows them to people more likely to act. Then there's the calendar: Black Friday through December is the most expensive stretch of the year, when retailers crowd the auction. Industry plays a part as well. Health & Wellness paid almost twice Baby's CPM in Triple Whale's data.
Creative is the factor you control. Meta rewards ads people engage with, so a weak ad can cost more to deliver to the same audience than a strong one.
How to get a lower CPM
- 1.Broaden targeting. Let Meta's delivery find buyers instead of stacking interests, and judge the result by cost per purchase.
- 2.Turn on Advantage+ placements so Meta can buy cheaper inventory in Reels, Stories, and Audience Network when it performs.
- 3.Refresh creative before it fatigues. Rising frequency and falling CTR push costs up, and our ad fatigue guide shows how to spot it early.
- 4.Test more distinct concepts. Each one gives Meta another chance to find a cheap, engaged audience. How many ad creatives to test covers the numbers.
A cheap CPM can still be a bad deal. A $5 CPM that never converts loses to a $20 CPM that sells. Judge CPM alongside CTR, conversion rate, and cost per purchase. Triple Whale's median cost per purchase was $38.99 over the same period.
If creative is what's holding your costs up, Adrio produces new static and video ad variations from your brand and product pages, so you can refresh ads before frequency climbs. See the CPM glossary entry for the formula and CPM bidding types.
FAQ
How much does it cost to get 1,000 views on Facebook ads?
Usually $8 to $15 for 1,000 impressions. Triple Whale's 2026 median is $15.06 for ecommerce brands, and US audiences often cost more than $20. If you mean 1,000 video views, divide your CPM by the share of impressions that become views.
What is a good CPM for Facebook ads in 2026?
For US ecommerce, anything at or below Triple Whale's $15.06 median is normal. Compare your CPM against your own past months and your cost per purchase, not a universal number.
Why is my Facebook CPM so high?
Common causes are a narrow audience, an expensive country, Q4 competition, a purchase objective, or tired creative with rising frequency. Check frequency and CTR first: if both are moving the wrong way, new creative is the fastest fix.
Is CPM the same as cost per view?
No. CPM is the cost per 1,000 impressions, and an impression is counted every time your ad is shown. A video view only counts when someone watches for a set time, such as 3 seconds, so cost per view is always higher than CPM divided by 1,000.
